Father's Day may be almost over, but it's still Adopt a Shelter Pet month (also called June).

Betsy and friend

Betsy is a white leghorn rescued from an egg-laying farm in 2005. The facility she came from was small with 164,000 hens in two sheds. She is one of a lucky 2,000 who Animal Place saved on their last day before slaughter. As you can see, she has been severely debeaked, making life tough for her.
