Camouflage unveiled by Flash
animal species
This is another species of the Phaeacius genus I found in Malaysia.
Phaeacius are diverse in the South East Asia.
This is the first one I found from Ranau.
They are masters of camouflage in the Arachnid world.
Notice the shiny blue spots tagged in the photo, (see above) they are only present when I give it a camera flash shot.
See the previous photo of this jumping spider without flash.

Name: Salticidae > Spartaeinae > Phaeacius Sp.
Gender/ Sex: Female
Size: 8mm
Location: Ranau Hot Springs jungle trail, Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia.
