PAVONI - World MasterCard Fashion Week - A/W 2012 â€" The Tent at David Pecault Square â€" March 12, 2012 celebrity inspired clothing
Image by Jason Hargrove PAVONI is an exciting new luxury fashion house that caters to woman with an inspired sense of taste, as well as an appreciation for superior fabrics, impeccable craftsmanship and incomparable design. It is no coincidence co-founders Gianni Falcone & Mike Derderian chose the peacock, who has long been recognized as the embodiment and symbol of elegance, to be the inspiration for their line. We wanted to create a line that would distinguish itself as the epitome of sophistication, a line that embodies everything a woman should be; delicate yet strong, opulent yet dignified. Our muse is a woman who while being tasteful, does not lack the confidence and desire to make a statement when entering a room, a woman who appreciates standing out from the crowd but who does so with refinement and grace. We spare no expense when it comes to fabrics and craftsmanship, our goal is to offer “haute couture” artistry, style and quality at ready to wear prices.” PAVONI has quickly become one of the most inspired luxury labels on the market today. Their vision of classic traditional elegance fused with a contemporary edge was an instant hit. After only five seasons PAVONI has already garnered international acclaim, proven itself a fierce competitor to the biggest names in the industry, and become a celebrity favorite. Cactus Forest Drive, Saguaro National Park 40

Check out these about endangered animals images:

Cactus Forest Drive, Saguaro National Park 40
about endangered animals
Enormous cacti, silhouetted by the setting sun, for most of us the Giant Saguaro is the universal symbol of the American West. And yet, these majestic plants are only found in a small portion of the United States. Saguaro National Park protects some of the most impressive forests of these sub-tropical giants, on the edge of the modern City of Tucson.

Saguaro National Park, located in the state of Arizona, is part of the United States national park system.

Saguaro National Park is divided into two sections, lying approximately 20 miles (32 km) east and 15 miles (24 km) west of the center of the city of Tucson, Arizona. Total area in 2002 was 143 square miles (91,327 acres) (370 km²) of which 111 square miles (289 km²) is designated wilderness. There is a visitor center in each section. Both are easily reached by car from Tucson, but there is no public transport into either section. Both sections conserve fine tracts of the Sonoran Desert, including ranges of significant hills, the Tucson Mountains in the west and the Rincon Mountains in the east. The park gets its name from the saguaro cactus which is native to the region. Many other kinds of cactus, including barrel cactus, cholla cactus, and prickly pear, are also abundant in the park. One endangered animal, the Lesser Long-nosed Bat, lives in the park part of the year during its migration, together with one threatened species, the Mexican Spotted Owl.

The park was established as Saguaro National Monument on March 1, 1933, and changed to a national park on October 14, 1994.

Facilities in the park include 150 miles (240 km) of well marked and maintained hiking trails, and shorter walking trails with interpretative information available. Hiking is not advisable during the hot summer months.

The Rincon Mountain District is located at the eastern edge of Tucson, Arizona; the east side of the park was the original National Monument. What is unique about this park is that it starts off in the Sonoran Desert and gradually gives way to a montane coniferous forest of the Rincon Mountains. The highest peak in this range is Mica Mountain, at an elevation of 8,666 feet (2641 m). While this side of the park has fewer Saguaros than its counterpart they remain larger in size, due to higher amounts of rainfall and run off from the Rincon Mountains.

The key feature of this district is its 8.3-mile (13.4 km) loop, which connects its two picnic areas and central trails. Recently after a lengthy road improvement project, and refurbishment of the Visitor Center, the Rincon District is fully open once more.

Hiking on this side of the park is readily accessible to visitors. There are trail heads present at the east end of Speedway and Broadway, but these trail heads are commonly used by horses and get heavy usage on the weekends. Off the park's loop road there are several additional trail heads. Each Visitor Center will supply a map of hiking trails on request.

And at the southern boundary of the park is the Hope Camp Trails which are also commonly used for horses. Access to the Hope Camp Trails is found at the end of Camino Loma Alta, however the road is no longer paved for the last couple hundred yards. This section of the park was added in 1991 when Congress authroized the purchase of 4,011 acres (16.23 km2).

Ocean critter series cupcake soaps - OCTOPUS
all about animals
A lot like my original critter soaps, these cupcake soaps start out with all plant based oils and made from scratch using the hot process method (the same as cold process soap, but with a few more steps involved), and NEVER from a pre-made base!

The bottom portion was scented with a light vanilla cream, left uncolored, and contains a pinch of ultra fine, ground pumice for a little extra cleansing power.

The top portion was colored with natural iron oxides, scented with a tropical blend of vanilla, mango and sweet orange and topped off with a cute ocean critter and a dusting of micro glitter. The manufacturer recommends the toys for 3 and up, as they are small and could pose a choking risk.

weighs about 4oz.

I have about ten different ocean critters coming over the course of the next couple of days.

LOOK for more critter soaps very soon!

It's all about the light. I thought photographing animals and birds was all about timing. I never though a million tons of stone would be so demanding too! This was taken on our first evening and is one of the first photos I took. We didn't have another decent sunset. I'm pretty pleased with this as I'm not normally a landscape photographer. I decided to try something a little different and it seemed to work out OK.

Greenshield Lichen
facts about animals
Common Greenshield is one of our most common lichens. A lichen is special, because it is not one organism, but two. A lichen is a complicated relationship between a fungus and an algae.

A lichen is created when the fungus and algae join together to form a new organism. The lichen looks different than the way the fungus or algae looks by itself. The lichen can also reproduce itself and looks like a plant. The relationship between the fungus and algae is not fully understood, but scientists are studying to learn more.

An interesting fact about lichens is that the algae species in one lichen can usually join with a different fungus and make another lichen. It doesn't work the opposite way, however; a fungus is only able to make a lichen with one type of algae.

Although they look like plants, lichens do not have roots, stems, or leaves. The lichen takes the form of the fungus, and the algae lives inside. Since most algae are plants, they can make their own food. The fungus part of a lichen gets its food from the algae. Scientists cannot make up their minds if this relationship is mutualism or parasitism. This may be a mutualistic relationship, since the fungus gets food from the algae, and the algae gets a "house" from the lichen. Or maybe the fungus is just a parasite, taking food from the algae, when the algae could just as easily live on its own or with another lichen. The fungus is able to live on its own, but it doesn't do very well without the algae.

A lichen species always takes its name from the fungus part of the relationship. The fungus in Common Greenshield is Flavoparmelia caperata, so that is also the scientific name of the lichen.

Common Greenshield is usually greenish-gray or yellowish-green. It is called a "foliose" lichen because its body looks a lot like leaves. The "leaves" are mostly round usually overlap. Sometimes they are wrinkled, sometimes smooth.

Common Greenshield grows on tree trunks or rocks. Some trees that often have greenshield on them are maples and oaks. Lichens do not damage trees. Common Greenshield grows well in shady, damp places, especially in woods.

Lichens are not a popular food item for animals, but some that are known to eat them include: White-tailed Deer (small amounts in Winter), Wild Turkey, Meadow Vole, terrestrial snails, springtails, and oribatid mites.

Lichens grow very slowly. If a part of the lichen is broken off, it can grow into a new lichen. Lichens also make spores which can travel to new places on the wind; however, the spores will only grow into a fungus, not the total lichen.

Over time, a colony of lichen can break down rocks and put nutrients back into the soil.

I can't do much for these poor people, but I can donate the use of this work to any person or group asking for prayers and volunteers and to legitimate charities trying to raise money for relief efforts to help alleviate some of the anguish. May we reach out to those in need whenever we can and try to love one another. We are all brothers and sisters under the skin, no matter what color we are or where we live.

Here's a link to an article published by the Better Business Bureau that tells you how to gauge whether charities are reputable or not. The BBB page does NOT accept donations nor does it provide links to charitable organizations (that's a good thing), and it might help those wishing to give make sure that their generosity is actually benefiting those they wish to help.

The danger not being playing with Cody but taking a photo, while tugging on a plastic pipe that Cody's locked in her jaw and balancing on the edge of the decking. If I fell backwards or lost my balance I'd have had a few bruises!

I chose this image because it shows how the atoms in you have been a part of many other things, like flowers, fish and even Beethoven. I think that it is interesting that atoms can circulate that much (even if it is over a long period of time). Similar to the water on Earth, atoms can pass through a huge number of things. I think this picture really illustrates the fact that your atoms could have been a part of any other thing before they were part of you.

-How many atoms do you have that used to belong to one particular organism, like Beethoven for example?
-How do the atoms travel across oceans?

why is this Friday not like other Fridays?

one time i saw this lady doing her walking in the park. she had on like black long loose pants and a long grey cardigan, and she had her hair in one of those sort of cloth hair wraps that maybe had an animal print to it. something about how she moved and how she seemed totally unselfconscious, not like "here i am walking in the park" but seemed like just matter of fact just going about things without thinking that anybody watching her or whatever... something about her was totally ELEGANT, even in baggy comfortable clothes for going to walk at the park in.

i tried to make my Friday Foster look like a little bit like her.
