The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently received an “A” on a report card from the Center for Plain Language a non-profit group that monitors the Plain Writing Act of 2011. USDA was the only government agency that received an “A” for all documents, new and revised since the Plain Writing act became law, October 2011. The Plain Writing Committee wagered what grade USDA would receive and the losers of the wager were to donate 25 pounds of food each to the USDA Feds Feed Families food drive. The donation was displayed in the Departmental Management conference room in Washington, DC Monday, July 23, 2012.
