The aptly named staghorn coral inhabits the Great Barrier Reef, the Caribbean islands, the Bahamas, and the Florida Keys. It is critically endangered, although you wouldn't know that on the GBR. Here, staghorn coral is rather plentiful, although global populations have declined by 98% due to diseases, hurricanes, increased predation, and bleaching.
